The Australian String Academy (ASA) is an exciting new organisation dedicated to bringing unprecedented opportunities to young string players of Australia, and enriching the music community both here and abroad. Our flagship program, the international Summer School, provides unique opportunities for young string players and pianists from Australia and around the world. For 15 days, students playing the violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano are inspired under the direction of world-class tutors. The day-to-day program includes individual lessons, master classes, lectures, seminars, concerts, solo performance opportunities, and advanced chamber music. The Academy has expanded its programs and has an exciting vision for the future, aiming to leave a legacy that will develop and inspire the future generations of Australia's musicians.

The Australian Strings Association (AUSTA) is a professional association of players and makers of bowed string instruments which promotes excellence inÊall aspects of performance, teaching, conducting and string instrument making. AUSTA aims to inspire and support students, amateurs and professionals and to facilitate communication at local, national and international levels.

USA

Meadowmount School of Music is a seven-week summer school near New York for accomplished young violinists, violists, cellists and pianists training for professional careers in music. Since 1954, Meadowmount has been under the aegis of the Society for Strings, Inc., a non-profit organization.

Meadowmount has an enrolment capacity of over 200, yet remains small enough to provide personal attention to each student. Students have the opportunity to work with an outstanding faculty, prominent guest artists and an excellent staff of pianists.
